The US economy and democracy are in crisis. Our economic system based on free market strategies has created a legacy of underinvestment, corporate consolidation, and massive concentrations of wealth resulting in widespread economic insecurity, limited opportunities for small businesses, persistent racial wealth and wage gaps, and record income inequality -- especially for workers and families of color. Vast disparities in economic power have also been translated into vast disparities in political power, and public policies that no longer serve the public.
Join us for our 2023 Fall Funder Series to explore efforts to redistribute power among government, businesses, workers, and communities to build a more democratic economy that works for all of us.

I am proud of how truly intersectional our work is—how our straddling of program areas mirrors how interconnected life is, like a health program that includes theatre, for example.

Building Public Support for a Robust and Equitable Care Infrastructure: Lessons from the Care Economy Narrative Change Landscape Snapshot
Oct 26, 2023 | 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET
At some point, every one of us will need care or need to provide care. COVID-19 allowed us to witness the extraordinary contributions of caregivers and exposed the failings of our nation’s care policies, especially for communities of color. Important work is happening across the country to shape the national dialogue and change the way we think about care. Now is the time to transform public thinking and build support for a robust and equitable care infrastructure.
Join us as we launch a new report developed by Asset Funders Network, Economic Opportunity Funders, Early Childhood Funders Collaborative, Grantmakers In Aging, Grantmakers In Health, and Disability & Philanthropy Forum with support from the Care for All with Respect and Equity (CARE) Fund. Coming together for the first time across issues and constituencies represented by this diverse range of PSOs, we will discuss the evolving landscape of narrative change efforts across the care economy, lessons being learned by practitioners and by funders, and potential opportunities for further learning and action.
In 2021, in partnership with Native Americans in Philanthropy (NAP), Early Childhood Funders Collaborative (ECFC) established a working group to provide a forum for exploring grantmaker strategies to support and advance Native and Tribal led early childhood programs. Since it’s inception, the workgroup has led a public-private partnership opportunity with the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) to support the Tribal Early Learning Initiative (TELI), designed to: support tribes to coordinate tribal early learning and development programs; create and support seamless, high-quality early childhood systems; raise the quality of services to children and families across the pregnancy-to-kindergarten-entry continuum; and identify and break down barriers to collaboration and systems improvement. ECFC and NAP are working with ACF to enhance this effort, including supporting an in-person TELI Collaborative Convening and project storytelling by TELI participants.Learn more here about this work and opportunities for funders to get involved.
